SOUTH KOREA 2015 (PART I)

10/18 - 10/26 (SEOUL/BUSAN)

Travelling with secondary school mates for the first time.

After knowing each other for ten or maybe more than ten years of friendships, we manage to squeeze our time and go explore together! x
We had so much fun despite of little quarrel, procrastination, trepidation, and exhausting moments.
Overall, it was a great, exciting and awesome experience!

10/19 :

홍대 , 이화여자대학교

We reached Busan airport and took domestic flight to Seoul. After checked in at Hongdae JK Guesthouse, we headed to Ehwa University for food and shopping. It is just two stops from Hongdae to Ehwa station. Weather is good during our time and stay in Seoul. There is no haze, heavy raining, but only clear sky and cooling temperature. A lot of walking is needed, imagine if we were to walk under hot sun all day long, we would have turned back to our room much earlier. Thank god for the perfect weather that we walked as much as we can to break our legs.

10/20 :

에버랜드

Age doesn't matter as long as our heart still young, forever and always. We went to Everland Theme Park, to reminisce our good old days being a kid, and at the same time, to escape from daily work stress to become more stressful. Just kidding! You will seek much exciting and fearful moments when going on a roller coaster ride to 360 degree double rock spin. My friends and I did not make it on the T-Express (Wooden roller coaster ride), it is too scary! We just took those with less thrilling ones, and spent our time enjoying the environment/halloween decorations, eating, and photography opportunities! For those who love K-pop, there is a K-pop hologram concert. This is pretty cool as the projection of the artists' image is so real that you thought they are standing or performing just right in front of you! It was BigBang's, so a two thumbs up! x

10/21 :

경복궁 , 삼청동, 인사동

The place we had visited was the famous royal palace, Gyeongbokgung. We did not enter to the inner part of the building. Just a quick look on the surroundings and were amazed by the historical structure of the palace. We only get to see 광화문 , Gwanghwamun (main gate of the building) and maybe other minor ones which I'm not so sure of the names. There were also royal guards hovering at the main gate wearing traditional Korean clothing.

My friends and I then walking around and strolling at Samcheondong street. I really love this neighbourhood, as it is filled with artsy architecture, art galleries and shops, as well as a lot of cafes and restaurants can be found here too. I guess it is a place which promotes artists' works. The shops nearby are selling handicrafts, art merchandise, accessories, and vice versa. Pretty street paintings all across the wall too. It makes me feel like this place is full of soul and you can find peace here. I feel inspired by the environment as much too. We took a stop at Beans bin cafe, to enjoy sip of Americano and the famous 빙수 bingsu and waffles! It was a good bite!

Another must go spot was Bukchon Hanok Village. It is the residence area but we are allowed to take photos and have a walk around this neighbourhood.

Insadong, to me is a good place to shop for souvenirs. At here, they sell a lot of Korean traditional style goods and products. This is the day where I spent my money on buying souvenirs. We enjoyed buying things all the time though! x

10/22 :

명동

Our original plan was to go Nami Island and Petite France. However, we missed to catch our train and we decided to 'pull in' our plan.  I cannot recall much, but I think we went 명동 Myeongdong. A free and easy day as we were out of the plan. Not to forget our main purpose (to shop), and here we are in Myeongdong shopping and buying stuffs, spending like there is no tomorrow. We all have had mutual agreement to have a "Ministry of Finance" in our group. She is the one keeping our mutual funds for food and miscellaneous expenses. With the amount of things that we bought that day, the three of us were so exhausted carrying around our goods. Too bad our Ministry has no mercy to let us take a cab back to our house! Poor us! Nevertheless, we were glad to have someone taking control over our budget, so that we can eat more good stuff! hehe

10/23 :

신사동 가로수길 , 광장시장, 동대문디자인플라자

Shinsadong Garosu-gil, a place which is similar to Samcheondong. This is a walking street filled with cafes and restaurant, artsy shops and etc. One of the main purposes is to visit our favourite LINE store. Line cafe is at the ground floor. We spent time taking bunch of photos inside it as the LINE characters' cuteness is overloaded! heh

We proceed to Gwangjang market to grab some local traditional street food after Garosugil. There were lots of people, my friends and I took a sit in front of one of the stalls with lesser people. Stall owner 이모 is friendly and kind, and I recommend if you have chance to visit, please go support her! Her stall number is 16A/B. We have tried her 오뎅 Odeng and 떡볶이 tokbokki , as well as pancake from the other stall owner, all are yummy! 맛있다 !

At night, we went Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) to witness the LED roses. It is a popular spot filled with youngsters and future artists I suppose. We were amazed by the great architecture, highly fashionable people, people who was carrying musical instruments going on and off. There were a number of mini stalls set in a roll selling hand made goods. Not to forget to mention very cute and artsy mini vans can be found here too which selling burgers and snacks.

10/24 :

엔 서울타워

One of the must go spots in Seoul , Namsan Seoul Tower is checked in our to go list. Similarly with other places in Korea, there is many tourists crowded over here. We took a cable car all the way up to the tower. It was a great place to chill and relax. We took some beautiful pictures of the scenery and bought some souvenirs too.

10/25 :

부산, 감천문화마을, 남포동거리

Our trip is almost comes to an end. This is the day we went back to 부산 Busan. I must say one of my friends is really good at research and she found us a very lovely hotel in Busan area. It is called Busan Tower Hill Hotel. We had our last night staying here before heading back to our origins.

We had a short walk in Gamcheon Cultural Village. I fell in love with this place immediately as they possess a really beautiful scenery over here and again, giving the place a soul to live in. The weather temperature is much lower than when we were in Seoul, but we had a pleasure time spending here in this cultural village. We freeze ourself to take selfies and artistic photos, but it was worth it.

Our last meal and shopping trip will be at Nampodong Street Busan. I felt that Busan folks are much more friendly than in Seoul. We met good and helpful people there. It feels like home to me. We spent all money of what have left in this street on food, skincare, cosmetics, clothing, .........
Speaking of this, one of my friends got her money all spent. She was desperate to buy more things and fortunately, another friend of mine (Ministry of Finance) has some WON leftover, and they were negotiating the 'terms and conditions' of so called loan. I must jot this down to be part of my precious traveling memories too. Both of them were bargaining inside of Banila Co store to be exact! HAHA

As for me, I should have buy that Adidas tee shirt! LOL

This concludes our whole trip and there shall be more explore opportunity to come in near future! x

Koh Li Peh 2015

Finally I've been to the beautiful island in Thailand, Koh Li Peh.

It is a great place to relax and chill, take-it-slow kind of moment.

Just you and the air, water, sand and wind elements.

There is no direct flight to reach here, so you have to take the boat.

It took about one to one and a half hour from Telaga, Langkawi to this beautiful place.

Two or three days stay will be enough as there is minor activities can carry here:

surfing, snorkeling, sight seeing, eating and shopping.

Sometimes, you just don't have to do much and get yourself out of the hectic environment is one of

the best options to relief.

For food & beverages and some quick shopping, Walking Street is a popular spot. Island hoping

packages can be found here too!

Some photos from the trip :

We booked a private long tail boat : No.24
